2016 WCC Scholarship Winners

The Woman’s Club of Concord was proud to present two scholarships to two very remarkable young women this year. Our 2016 scholarship winners were Kathryn Andy and Isabelle Gillibrand as seen to the left with WCC President Hansi Glahn, and Scholarship Committee member Carolyn Stiles.

We were happy to honor these girls due to very successful fundraising efforts during our annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration & highlighted by Mike Ruedig's wonderful corned beef!

A special 'Thank You' goes out to all who donated, to our members (YOU!) & also to WCC Chairs: Carole Ann Palmer and Carolyn Stiles, who really made this year's award ceremony & meeting a success!

As part of the Woman’s Club of Concord’s mission to empower women, we award the Woman’s Club of Concord Annual $1000 Scholarship to Concord Area high school senior girls who shows promise.  We have been doing this since the early 1900's and we would love to reconnect with some if not all our WCC Scholarship Winners.

We have started a Scholarship Tea which present and past Winners attend along with our Scholarship Chairs and other strong empowering women and members of our club and community.

If you are a past winner or know of someone who is interested in attending the scholarship tea, please email our Scholarship Chair(s) at Scholarships@WCCNH.com.

The Woman's Club of Concord Annual $1,000 Scholarship is awarded to empower area high school girls who show clear evidence of embodying the community service values of the Woman's Club of Concord and who demonstrate financial need through an application process.

Interested applicants may download the application form from this site. Information can also be obtained from the guidance department at the three Concord Area public high schools: Concord, Bow and Merrimack Valley.

April 1st is the deadline for WCC scholarship applications to be submitted to the Woman's Club of Concord. The Woman's Club of Concord Scholarship Committee then reviews the applications and evaluates each applicant.

The finalists are selected to be interviewed. Interviews are scheduled for after mid-April at Chamberlin House, 44 Pleasant Street, Concord NH.

Of particular interest to the Scholarship Committee are the areas of:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Community Service/Involvement
  • Financial Need
  • Interest in Women's Issues
  • Leadership

The Woman’s Club of Concord Annual $1000 Scholarship final recipient is chosen based on the interview results and will be selected by May 1.
A Scholarship Certificate is presented at the Woman’s Club of Concord Annual Meeting where she meets members of the club. The Woman's Club of Concord will notify the recipient's high school and send a press release to the Concord Monitor.

After completing her fall semester, the recipient briefs the Woman’s Club of Concord Scholarship Committee on her accomplishments for the term and includes a copy of her transcript. Once this report has been received and evaluated, the Woman's Club of Concord sends $1,000 directly to the recipient's school, to be applied to her second-semester tuition.
